Felix Holzner (born June 4, 1985 in Belzig , Potsdam district ) is a German former football player and today's coach. He played as a midfielder or a defender .

Career

Felix Holzner has played in the youth division of FC Carl Zeiss Jena since 1991. In 2004 he moved up to the first team that was playing in the Northeast Football League. The young midfielder rose to the Regionalliga Nord with Jena in 2005 , where they made it through to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2006 . Holzner made his first appearance in the second division in December 2006. Despite two cruciate ligament tears in 2008 and 2009, Holzner was part of the FC Carl Zeiss Jena squad until 2011, which last played in the third division. In May 2011, he announced that after his contract expired on June 30, 2011, he would end his career due to ongoing injury problems.

As a trainer

After retiring from his career, Holzner became the coach of the FC Carl Zeiss Jena U-13 team .

Personal

In addition to his career as a trainer, he works as a physiotherapist in Jena .
