The prize money is 5000 euros. The first prize was awarded in 2000. It is named after Felix Klein .
It is awarded for the development of sophisticated methods for solving a concrete and difficult applied problem of industrial mathematics ( using sophisticated methods to give an outstanding solution, which meets with the complete satisfaction of industry, to a concrete and difficult industrial problem ).
It should not be confused with the Felix Klein Medal of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) (awarded for outstanding lifetime achievement in mathematics education).
