Felix Paul Carl August Pfitzner (born August 4, 1883 in Wiesbaden ; † around 1945) was a German film producer and functionary in the film industry.

Life

Pfitzner initially trained as an insurance specialist and then spent a few years abroad, including the USA. There he worked as production manager from 1918. From 1921 he also took over this area of responsibility for German film. In the meantime he also appeared as a functionary; So Pfitzner moved on October 24, 1929 as head of the European Film Alliance (EFA) on the board of the central organization of the film industry .

With the dawn of the sound film era, Pfitzner founded his own production company, Cicero-Film GmbH. Together with his partner Ilja Salkind , he produced an abundance of lightweight entertainment films until 1934. In 1934 the Russian emigrant and partner Salkind had to leave National Socialist Germany for “racial” reasons. Pfitzner initially continued to produce alone until the dissolution of the Cicero film in 1935. After a long period of inactivity in the field of active film production, Pfitzner was only able to produce films again after the outbreak of war, this time in the role of a production and line manager. Most recently, he was a production group leader in the service of the Berlin-Film conglomerate .

Pfitzner may have died in Berlin in the last days of the war, but his trace will be lost at the end of the war.
