Felix Rosskopf

Felix Roßkopf (* 1989 in Darmstadt ) is a German jazz musician (piano).

Live and act

Roßkopf began taking classical piano lessons at the age of five. At the age of eleven he played in the big band of his school and got to know jazz. In 2007 he became a member of the LandesJugendJazzOrchester Hessen, with which he toured Lithuania, France, Korea, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Brazil and can be heard on the album Tribute to Kenny Napper . After graduating from high school, he studied at the Jazz Institute Berlin , where he received his bachelor's degree in 2014.

At the age of 16 he had several solo appearances, first at the Silda Jazz Festival in Norway; Solo concerts in Zurich, Darmstadt, Konstanz and Meersburg followed. Shortly afterwards he founded the microtonally oriented quartet Besaxung with Philipp Gerschlauer , whom he met in the LandesJugendJazzOrchester Hessen, Oliver Lutz and Thomas Sauerborn , which has so far released three albums. The band Panda Syndikat builds bridges to hip hop . He also plays in his own trio and in a duo with Reza Askari .

Prizes and awards

In 2006, Roßkopf won the Jazzma International Promotion Prize as a soloist . In 2009 he won the national youth jazz competition with the band Besaxung . In 2010 he won the Jazz Me award of the city of Heidelberg , also with saxing .
