Felli gap
The Fellilücke is a mountain crossing in the Glarus Alps .
It is located at an altitude of 2476 m above sea level. M. between the Schneehüenerstock in the west and the Piz Tiarms in the east and connects the Fellital in the north with the Oberalp Pass in the south. The border between the communities of Gurtnellen and Andermatt runs at the top of the pass .
The Fellilücke is accessible with a hiking trail ( T3 ). From the new cable car mountain station ( 2580 m above sea level ) on the Schneehüenerstock, the pass can be reached quickly on a good hiking trail. A former military route leads from the south of the Fellilücke past the Lutersee to the Gütsch ob Andermatt .
Finds of Roman coins and a finger ring in the summer of 2015 confirmed the inspection of the gap in Roman times . In August 1799, French troops (2 battalions and 8 grenadier companies) led by Claude-Jacques Lecourbe moved through the Fellital and across the Fellilücke in the direction of the Oberalp Pass when Gurtnellen was circumvented .
