Ferdi Kräling

Ferdi Kräling (* 1940 in Winterberg-Siedlinghausen in the Sauerland ) is a German photo reporter and best known as a photographer of international racing series such as Formula 1 , World Rally Championships , sports car world championships and more.

Ferdi Kräling learned the profession of photographer and initially worked in his parents' photo business before turning to motorsport in 1963. He is one of the most renowned motorsport photographers of his time and photographed around 2000 races during his active time from 1963 to 2005. He is one of the few motorsport photographers who has attended over 500 Formula 1 Grand Prix competitions. His archive consists of over 1.5 million motorsport motifs.

In 1999 Ferdi Kräling handed over his motorsport photo agency in Winterberg-Siedlinghausen to his son Bodo (* 1968), who has been managing director of the Kräling photo agency since then. Bodo Kräling also initiated the switch from analog to digital photography.

Ferdi Kräling has published numerous motorsport books in renowned publishers. In the context of this he often worked with Dieter L. Scharnagl , who wrote the texts. Especially his book: Jochen Rindt. The first pop star of Formula 1. With texts by Herbert Völker and photo contributions by McKlein and Milan Schijatschky, published by Delius Klasing-Verlag ( ISBN 978-3-7688-2650-1 ) should be very well known. With his photos about / about Jochen Rindt , he also carried out numerous exhibitions.
