Ferdinand Ewald

Karl Friedrich Ferdinand Ewald (born November 26, 1846 in Berlin ; † November 27, 1928 there ) was a gilder and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Ewald attended elementary school in Berlin and learned the profession of goldsmith from 1860 to 1864. He traveled to Germany as a craftsman and was a self-employed master from 1882. He was also a co-founder of the professional associations and chairman of the gilding professional association. In 1884 he became the first travel agent for the Berliner Volksblatt (forward). Member of the Berlin City Council 1884/1885. On December 14, 1884, he was expelled from Berlin on the basis of the Socialist Act. He founded a cigar business in Brandenburg an der Havel and in 1887 became the owner of a book printer and editor of the Brandenburger Zeitung . He was also a co-founder of the Brandenburg consumer association and chairman of the supervisory board of the same. From 1895 he was back in Berlin. From 1895 to 1905 he was an innkeeper and until 1907 chairman of the association of independent innkeepers . He was also a city councilor in Berlin.

From 1913 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Potsdam 9 ( Zauch-Belzig , Jüterbog-Luckenwalde ) and the SPD .
