Ferdinand Jacobson

Ferdinand Jacobson (born February 5, 1822 in Berlin ; † February 16, 1905 in Hamburg ) was a German businessman, banker and member of parliament.

Life

Ferdinand Jacobson was the son of Israel Jacobson , the founder of the Jacobson School in Seesen, and his second wife Jeanette Leffmann. After completing a commercial apprenticeship, he got a position at M. Robinow & Sons Hamburg. The trading company Ferdinand Jacobson later opened . He was able to establish himself quickly and took the Hamburg citizen oath in 1851 . After extensive business trips, he turned to the banking industry and was one of the founders of the Norddeutsche Bank in 1856 . He was involved with a starting capital of 800,000 marks Banco . He was a member of the board of directors of Norddeutsche Bank from 1856 to 1872 and from 1881 to 1892.

From 1858 Jacobson was a member of the Commerzdeputation , which he headed as President in 1861. Jacobson was also engaged in various voluntary work in various deputations in Hamburg. From 1859 to 1862, from 1865 to 1870 and from 1880 to 1883 he was a member of the Hamburg citizenship .

The Ferdinand Jacobson company existed until 1940.
