Ferdinand Noßberger
Ferdinand Noßberger-Schalk (* 1817 in Krumau , † May 27, 1891 in Linz ) was an Austrian Schnurmacher, benefactor and Linz councilor.
Noßberger-Schalk, son of a city doctor in Krumau, learned the trade of a Schnurmacher. After completing his training, he moved to Linz and became an accountant in the Schalk'schen lace-up shop, which was located at Hauptplatz 29 in Linz. Eventually, he took over the company after marrying the business owner's daughter.
In addition to his membership in the Linz municipal council from 1857 to 1861, he had many other functions. The charitable businessman also made significant endowments. This is how the street got its name just one year after his death.
Honor
- In 1892, Noßbergerstrasse, a dead end street at the Eisenhandstrasse / Körnerstrasse intersection, was named after him.
