Ferdinand Pochmann

Ferdinand Pochmann (born October 7, 1841 in Dresden ; † 1905 ) was a German theater actor and director .

Life

Pochmann entered the stage for the first time on May 16, 1862, together with his brother Eduard . Pochmann worked in Chemnitz, Bremen, Cologne, Hamburg (1879–1883) as an actor and acquired his skills in character actors and hero fathers ("Lear", "Nathan", "Franz Moor", "Wurm", "Richard III", "Tell" etc.) are enough to applaud. In 1883 the artist took over the management of the Schauspielhaus in Potsdam, but also led the summer theaters in Putbus, Pyrmont and Warmbrunn and in 1901, looking back on a successful career, withdrew completely into private life. He has set up his residence in Dresden. The name Pochmann has a good reputation in art and theater circles.
