Karl Darscheid

Karl Darscheid (born August 10, 1931 in Alf ; † December 15, 2004 ) was a German economist and lawyer .

Life

Darscheid studied business administration at the University of Cologne (diploma in 1955) and law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn ( major legal state examination 1959).

From 1963 to 1972 he worked in the finance and tax division of the Koblenz Chamber of Commerce and Industry . In 1973 he became General Manager of the Koblenz Chamber of Commerce and General Secretary of the Working Group of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chambers of Industry and Commerce . He made himself u. a. earned for the introduction of the now nationwide known "pilot model" (1980) of the IHKs for the promotion of start-ups and young entrepreneurs . In his role as board member of the WHU foundation and managing director of the Koblenz Chamber of Commerce, he submitted the "basic concept of an independent, internationally oriented elite university to prepare young managers for business" to the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Culture in 1983 . The WHU Vallendar then emerged from this initiative . In 1990 he retired.

In 1989 he became a board member of the Action Group for the Social Market Economy (ASM).

Darscheid was married and the father of two children.
