Ferdinand Zenetti (born July 9, 1839 in Lauingen (Danube) , † May 26, 1902 in Rosenheim ) was mayor and honorary citizen of Lauingen (Danube).

Life

Zenetti was a son of the pharmacist and mayor of Lauingen Karl Zenetti and his wife Marianne, geb. Knorr, a merchant's daughter from Munich. After attending grammar school and lyceum in Dillingen an der Donau , he began studying pharmacy at the University of Munich , where he became a member of the Corps Franconia . After passing his exams, he took over his father's pharmacy in Lauingen in 1863. He was involved in public life in the city from an early age. He was chairman of the community plenipotentiary college, was a magistrate and from 1888 to 1896 mayor of the city, before he announced his resignation for health reasons. Zenetti was significantly involved in the development of the city's fire department, was honorary director of the Dillingen-Land district fire department and honorary commander of the Lauingen volunteer fire department. He was also the founder and first leader of the volunteer medical column, the second in the administrative district of Swabia after the one in Augsburg.

His grave is in the old cemetery in Lauingen.

Awards

Zenetti was awarded the Bavarian Order of Michael II. Class a.O. The city of Lauingen made him an honorary citizen. A street was named after him there.
