Ferenc Aszódy

Ferenc Aszódy (* 6. August 1929 in Budapest , † 2. July 2005 in Los Angeles ) was a German trumpeter Hungarian origin, both in jazz and in the light music has emerged. He also appeared as Ferenc Aszodi .

Live and act

Aszódy began playing the trumpet at the age of ten. After the war he studied music at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest with a focus on trumpet. He then not only played classical music, but more and more jazz and soon founded his own jazz band. In 1956 he migrated to West Germany; Just two months after his arrival he became principal trumpeter in the Max Greger Orchestra , with whom he stayed for 13 years. In 1970 he switched to the Südwestfunk dance orchestra under the direction of Rolf-Hans Müller , where he worked until 1979. In addition, he played first flugelhorn with Rolf Schneebiegl and his original Black Forest musicians and from 1979 as first flugelhorn player, solo trumpeter and concert master with the original Egerland musicians from Ernst Mosch . He composed titles used as background music ( jumping balls ) on television , recorded under his own name and continued to play on recordings by Werner Baumgart , Kurt Edelhagen , Erwin Lehn and the hr big band .

Aszódy died while visiting his son in Los Angeles, California.
