Fernand Canelle

Fernand Canelle (born January 2, 1882 in Paris , † September 12, 1951 ) was a French football player .

Canelle played at Club Français Paris throughout his career . As early as 1896, at the age of only 14, Canelle was part of the championship team. Four years later, he took part in the 1900 Olympic Games with his club, representing France . The Club Français lost 4-0 to the British team Upton Park FC and scored a 6-2 win against a Belgian selection.

His club career lasted until 1922 - when he was 40 years old - and he celebrated one last success with the club team in 1918 with the fourth Parisian championship title.

Canelle played six times in so-called Urländerspiele for France, which today are not, however, run as official internationals. On May 1, 1904, the defender was on the pitch at the international premiere of his country in Brussels against Belgium and even led his team as captain. By 1908, five more missions for the French national team followed , including another as captain. At the Olympic Games in 1908 it was on the registration form, but was ultimately not used in London.
