Fernand Haussaire (born May 31, 1911 in Oran , Algeria , † June 21, 1966 ) was a French football player .

Career

In his youth, Haussaire played for a club called the Gallia Club from Oran in French-occupied Algeria. In 1932 he was in the squad of FC Sète , which in the same year co-founded the professional league Division 1 as the highest French division; so he was one of the first players in the new league. Even if he was used in 12 of the 18 games, he retired from paid football in 1933.

In the course of the 1935/36 season he returned to this when he took up with the OGC Nice in the second division; at the end of the season he moved to the first division club AS Cannes . He made regular appearances for Cannes, but was not undisputed. In 1938 he signed with league rivals Olympique Lille . In 1939, regular game operations were interrupted by the Second World War, which meant the end of Haussaire's career. He later ran for an amateur club.
