Fernanda Melchor
Fernanda Melchor Pinto (born 1982 in Boca del Río ) is a Mexican writer.
Life
Fernanda Melchor studied journalism at the Universidad Veracruzana and worked in public relations at the university. She writes for various magazines and published her first novel Aquí no es Miami in 2013 .
Her novel Temporada de Huracanes (English title: Season of Cyclones ), published in 2017, has been translated into several languages and has received international awards. The English translation by Sophie Hughes was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize in 2020 .
