Fernando Araújo Perdomo (* 1955 in Cartagena , Colombia ) is a Colombian lawyer, social scientist and politician.

Araújo Perdomo, who comes from a wealthy family, was Minister for Economic Development of his country under the government of Andrés Pastrana from 1998 until he had to resign as a result of an uncovered scandal. On December 4, 2000, he was kidnapped while jogging by left-wing FARC guerrilla fighters who held him hostage in the jungle for six years. The aim of the guerrilla group was to press prisoners out with the prominent politician. On December 31, 2006, he was finally able to flee during an attempt at liberation by the Colombian armed forces by taking advantage of the general confusion of his "guards" and fled.

Two months after his escape, President Álvaro Uribe Vélez , who himself was under massive criticism, appointed him on February 19, 2007 as Colombia's new foreign minister to succeed María Consuelo Araújo , who had resigned from office in the course of a major political crisis. He resigned on July 16, 2008.
