Fernando de la Mora (singer)
Fernando de la Mora (born June 7, 1958 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican opera singer (tenor).
De la Mora studied singing with Leticia Velásquez de Buen Abad , Rosa Rimoch and Emilio Perez Casas . In 1986 he made his professional debut at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in his hometown. This was followed by appearances as Romeo in Charles Gounod's Roméo et Juliette (1987), Alfredo in Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata at the Vienna State Opera (1988-89), as Roberto in Gaetano Donizetti's Roberto Devereux in Barcelona (1990) and as Nemorino in Donizetti's L. 'elisir d'amore at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and the Covent Garden Opera (1991–92).
In 1993 he made his debut at the Opéra Bastille as Faust in Gounod's opera. He made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in the 1993–94 season as Rodolfo in Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème . He has also made guest appearances in Barcelona, Moscow, Bologna, San Diego, Venice, Stockholm, Buenos Aires, Miami, Pittsburgh, Caracas, Dallas, Seattle, Bogota and Marseille, in Japan, Puerto Rico and Korea. His record repertoire includes operas and classical music as well as Mexican and Latin American folk music and songs with the Mariachi Vargas .
