The Ferrovia Circumvesuviana (SFSM - Strade Ferrate Secondarie Meridionali) is a regional train with a gauge of 950 mm in the metropolitan city of Naples and in the province of Salerno , Campania region , in Italy.

It connects the city of Naples with surrounding communities and cities such as Sorrento , Torre del Greco , Pompei or Ercolano near Mount Vesuvius . From Naples to Pompei, the railway has two tracks and is used in left-hand traffic. The line is single-track from Pompeii in the direction of Sorrento, so you have to wait for the oncoming train at larger stations. The track network is 142 km long and connects 96 train stations.
