Production resources

Production resources (PRT) are passive resources that are directly involved in production . As they are passive, they cannot act alone like active equipment (machines). They are also directly involved in production, not just indirectly like buildings or transport or storage facilities.

Production resources and aids are, for example:

• Tools : machine tools such as milling tools or turning tools as well as hand tools such as hammers or open-ended wrenches
• Active media
• Measuring and testing equipment for quality checks
• Devices : To determine the position and orientation of the workpieces
• Clamping device : For holding workpieces or tools at workplaces or in machines
• Molds
• Models in the foundry
