The Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty [ paɾa'tʃi ] ( Flip , also: FLIP , English: Paraty International Literary Festival ) is a literature festival that has been taking place in Paraty since 2003 .

In South America and in the host country Brazil, it is considered one of the most important literary festivals. Financing is provided by a tiered system of sponsors and is carried out by the non-profit Associação Casa Azul. In addition to readings, there are also well-attended discussions. Its international success since the year it was founded is based above all on the sympathy and active participation of internationally recognized writers from all countries.

The festival is related to similar ones to the annual International Festival of Authors in Toronto in Canada and the Festivaletteratura Mantua in Italy to show interculturality in literature.

It is dedicated to an outstanding writer each time. At the first festival in 2003 it was Vinícius de Moraes , 2004 Guimarães Rosa , 2005 Clarice Lispector , 2006 Jorge Amado , 2007 Nelson Rodrigues , 2008 Machado de Assis , 2009 Manuel Bandeira (1886–1968) from Pernambuco , 2010 the sociologist Gilberto Freyre (1900– 1987), 2011 Oswald de Andrade , 2012 Carlos Drummond de Andrade , 2013 Graciliano Ramos , 2014 Millôr Fernandes (1923–2012), 2015 Mário de Andrade (1893–1945), 2016 Ana Cristina Cesar (1952–1983).

In 2013 in the United Kingdom in the village of Snape (Suffolk) (Snape Maltings) a sister edition of the event took place for the first time under the name FlipSide , which has been held annually since then.
