Comparable ranks

The rank was directly comparable to the horseshoe instructor of the mounted transport troops of the Wehrmacht.

There was no direct equivalent in the English-speaking armed forces, but the rank would have been comparable to the Warrant Officer (WO-1) of the British Royal Navy or the United States Navy.

Gun color

The weapon color of the "fortress construction pioneer troops" was "bright red".
