Fortress master craftsman was the highest rank of non-commissioned officer of the fortress pioneers of the Wehrmacht until 1945. The next lower rank was fortress craftsman .
A fortress foreman or fortress foreman was the supervisor of the technical crew (= operation and maintenance of the machines) of a tank factory of the strength "B" of the Western Wall or Atlantic Wall .
