Fethi Benslama (born August 31, 1951 in Salakta , Tunisia ) is a psychoanalyst and professor of psychoanalysis at the University of Paris Diderot .

life and work

Fethi Benslama researches and writes on topics such as radicalization , psychoanalysis and religion and the psychopathology of identity. In his work as a psychoanalyst, he is particularly dedicated to child psychiatry . In his essay Une Fiction troublante (1994), Benslama discusses Salman Rushdie's work and how it is dealt with in the course of the fatwa against Salman Rushdie. He is considered one of the most important French-speaking researchers of Islamism and is a member of the Tunisian Academy of Sciences and the author of numerous books on psychoanalysis and Islam . His works in German translation are published by Matthes & Seitz Berlin.
