The publisher published an average of fifteen books a year. The program consisted of the series Debate , Batteries , Cultural Curiosities and Lovers' Library . The publishing house was initially located in the Heimeran publishing house at Dietlindenstrasse 14, and later in the basement of a villa in Bogenhausen at Mauerkircherstrasse 10. Since the heirs of Matthes showed no interest in taking over the publishing house, he entered into negotiations with Suhrkamp . However, after the death of its publisher Siegfried Unseld in 2002, a takeover did not take place.
