Gerd Bergfleth

Gerd Bergfleth (* 1936 in Dithmarschen ) is a German writer and translator .

Life

Bergfleth studied philosophy , literature and Greek studies from 1956 to 1964 in Kiel , Heidelberg and Tübingen . He has lived there since 1971 as a freelance writer and translator. From 1975 he worked initially as an editor and later also as a translator of the theoretical work of Georges Bataille . A monograph with the title Antihermeneutics that was repeatedly announced by the publishing house Matthes & Seitz from 1977 onwards has not appeared. Bergfleth wrote numerous essays, lectures and collections of fragments, among others on Karl Marx , Friedrich Nietzsche , Martin Heidegger , Maurice Blanchot , Pierre Klossowski , Emile Cioran and Jean Baudrillard . He published essays in the journals Konkursbuch and Der Pfahl, as well as in Staatsbriefe und Etappe , which are assigned to the spectrum of the New Right . In 1994 he took part in the debate about Botho Strauss ' essay Swelling Bocksgesang in the anthology The Self-Confident Nation .
