The Feuerbachstraße is a landmarked road train in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The approximately 350 meter long street is located in Magdeburg's old town and connects Sternstrasse in the south with Seumestrasse in the north. It also belongs to the Sterngelände monument area .

Architecture and history

The road was built on the site of Fort Berge , which belongs to the Magdeburg fortress , after the city of Magdeburg acquired this area of ​​the fortress in 1903 and then demolished it. Urban houses and villas with garden plots on the west side were then built on the east side of the street. The design of the buildings took place in forms of Art Nouveau , neoclassicism and reform architecture .

The street was initially called Keithstrasse and was named after the Prussian general James Keith . After the Second World War it was renamed and is now named after the philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach .

In the local monument register , the street is listed as a monument area under registration number 094 18286 .
