A fire brigade doctor is a doctor in the service of the fire department . He is primarily responsible for providing specialist medical advice to fire service managers and for medical care, training and prevention / health promotion for fire service members. Areas of responsibility

A fire brigade doctor is part of the medical service in the fire department. He is responsible for the medical care of the fire brigade members. He also advises managers on medical issues. The duties of a fire brigade doctor include, for example, participation and medical supervision in training and preventive measures. He is also active in the follow-up work on missions. During an operation (especially in the case of major incidents) he advises the chief of operations and is responsible for the medical security of the emergency services. A fire brigade doctor can also be deployed as part of the fire brigade's rescue service , with the appropriate qualifications also as an emergency doctor , provided that a senior emergency doctor is present.
