The equipment of the fire brigade is equipment and tools specially manufactured for the high demands of the fire brigade . It is in most cases with fire engines to the operation site taken or needs to be worn on the circumstances of fire fighters there. But other means of transport such as boats or aircraft may also be required.

In simplified terms, fire fighting equipment can be divided into devices for fire fighting , devices for technical assistance and personal equipment for fire fighters .

Fire fighting equipment

In order to fight a fire with extinguishing agents , the fire brigade has to set up an extinguishing water supply in most cases . Special pumps convey the extinguishing agent to the fire through previously installed hoses . There the extinguishing water is released via jet pipes and the fire is fought. The fire brigade uses self-contained compressed air breathing apparatus for use in fire smoke .
