Water-bearing fittings are mostly fire-brigade devices made of light metal through which the extinguishing water flows. Together with the hoses , they ensure the extinguishing water supply and thus create a decisive prerequisite for successful fire fighting .

These components of the fire-fighting equipment are carried on most fire- fighting vehicles, especially fire-fighting vehicles (in Germany, for example, in the small fire-fighting vehicles ( TSF / TSF-W ), medium fire-fighting vehicle , LF / HLF, TLF / GTLF ), but also on aerial rescue vehicles .

Water-bearing fittings are usually rigid parts of the equipment and are made of stainless metal. This can be an aluminum , wrought or cast alloy . Handguards, chicks and nozzles are made of plastic.
