Collecting tray

Collection containers are troughs, tubs or other mobile devices that are used to collect liquids. They are used in construction, in industry and in hazard elimination, in particular to prevent the escape of hazardous liquid substances .

Fire equipment

Collection containers are part of the basic equipment of various fire engines . There are different types of collection containers.

trough

A collecting trough , also called debris trough , is used to quickly catch spilled liquids, e.g. B. in traffic accidents with leaking oil or gasoline . The collecting trough can also be used to hold flammable materials , e.g. B. embers and ashes can be used. The troughs used by the fire brigade are made of galvanized sheet steel or aluminum .

Polyethylene tub

A polyethylene tub is an emergency device for use in hazardous goods . It is usually carried in small numbers on the equipment trolley for hazardous goods , the rescue vehicle or on rescue group vehicles .

Polyethylene tubs are used to collect, pump over or transport dangerous goods or tools. The latter is useful if larger numbers of tools or resources have to be brought to the site of operation wearing chemical protective suits .

Collapsible container

A collapsible container is a fire service device that can be used to collect large quantities of liquids. This is used both when deploying dangerous goods and during forest fires , in which a collapsible container can be used as a buffer station for pumping water.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of the polyethylene tub compared to metal tubs are the non-sparking properties of the material, the lower weight and the possibility of using it with substances that react dangerously with metal. The disadvantage of the collapsible container is that, compared to other collecting containers, they have to be put into position with several people.
