The offer is aimed at primary and secondary schools and builds on the SINUS project. The program is named after the Italian mathematician Fibonacci .

The program started in January 2010 and will end in March 2013. According to the official website, 3,500 teachers and 45,000 students will participate in the program by the end of the program period.

Attendees

The consortium consists of 25 members from 21 EU countries, 12 reference centers (Reference Centers, RC) and 24 partner centers (Twin Centers, TC). Each reference center supports two partner centers with training courses and tutoring.

Fibonacci Bavaria

360 schools with around 2300 teachers are currently participating in the Fibonacci Bavaria project. Two to four advanced training events are held each year for the teachers responsible. The mentors give didactic and methodological suggestions at these events and work together with the teachers on the student-active implementation of specific curriculum topics. This expands the teaching repertoire of the teachers. The main goals of the project are the promotion of individual learning, the use of digital media and communication possibilities and the strengthening of independent work.
