Fidel Nadal (born October 4, 1965 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine singer and songwriter who can be attributed to the reggae style . Until 2000 he was best known as the front man of the band Todos Tus Muertos , but then started a solo career.

biography

Nadal grew up in an academic family in Buenos Aires, his mother was an anthropologist , his father a film director. He claims to have been heavily influenced by the music his parents listened to, mainly blues and jazz . In 1984 he played as a singer in a band for the first time. A year later he founded the band Todos tus Muertos, which mixed reggae with punk influences and samples in their music . With this mixture the group was very successful and already for the first album in 1988 they got a record deal with Universal Music .

During the 1990s, Todos Tus Muertos toured Latin America several times, including with the French group Mano Negra , which followed a similar style. From 1994 he integrated with several other members of the band as a side project the group Lumumba , whose style was closer to classical reggae. After Todos Tus Muertos and Lumumba broke up in 2000, he started a solo career, during which he moved closer to the conscious trend of reggae. When Todos tus Muertos were founded in 2004, Nadal did not take part in the reunion. As a result, there were disputes between Nadal and the band over the copyright of some of the songs that had been composed by him.
