Fierabras
Fierabras is an old French heroic epic ( chanson de geste ) from the 12th century from the saga of Charlemagne . It tells of the giant Fierabras, a pagan Saracen who is defeated by the Christian knight Olivier in Spain and converted to Christianity .
The fabric inspired Cervantes and Calderón . Franz Schubert wrote an opera Fierrabras (1823, D 796).
Also in the German Adult books of Karl Simrock one is Fierabras included.
