Fight !! is a manga series by Pink Aomata from 1992 to 1994. The Shōjo series is about a high school student who protects the world from demons with his magic sword. It falls into the genres of action and fantasy and was adapted in 1993 as an original video animation .
content
The high school student Yōnosuke Hikura ( 日 座 陽 之 助 ) has to protect the earth from demons following the tradition of his family. For this he is equipped with the magic sword Chitentai ( 地 天 泰 ) and the high priests sent him Tsukinojo Inbe ( 月 之 丞 ) as a protector. With the help of both, he fights the demons and sends them back to the earth world from which they fled, and protects the balance between heaven and earth.
publication
The manga created by Pink Aomata was published from 1992 to 1994 in Wings magazine by Shinshokan in Japan. The chapters also came out collectively in three volumes. In 2006 a new edition was issued in the form of two bunkobons .
An English translation was published online in 2012 by the JManga platform . In 2013 the site ceased operations.
Anime adaptation
An anime adaptation of the manga was created at JCStaff in 1993 . Directed by Akira Koson , who also wrote the script. The character design was created by Kenichi Ōnuki and the responsible producers were Kenji Kume and Michihisa Abe . The music was composed by Taikai Hayakawa and the end credits were accompanied by the song Boku no Soba ni Dare ka Iru ( 僕 の そ ば に 誰 か い る ) by Yuko Kawai .
The 45 minute long film was released as the original video animation on June 18, 1993 by Pony Canyon directly on VHS and Laserdisk. From January 1, 2000, the film came out under the title Fight !! Spirit of the Sword hit cinemas in the USA, and AnimeWorks and Media Blasters were responsible for distribution and sales . This American version, shortened to 30 minutes, was released on June 20, 2000 in Canada and the USA, also on VHS and DVD.

The Anime Encyclopedia writes that the content of the anime is comparable to Devil Hunter Yohko , but that it is told in a disappointingly direct way.
