Figueira is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Figueira belongs to the district Penafiel in the district of Porto . It has an area of ​​5.7 km² and 409 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Figueira and Lagares were merged to form the new municipality of Lagares e Figueira .
