Fihalhohi , also known as Fihaa Lhohi , is an island in the Maldives on the southwestern edge of the South Malé Atoll .
The once uninhabited tourist island is 400 meters long and 260 meters wide, and around 39 kilometers from the Maldivian capital Malé . There are numerous diving areas nearby, most of which can be reached in less than an hour by boat.
The holiday resort on Fihalhohi opened to tourists in the 1980s.
