The Filchnerberge are a group of mountains in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica . They rise about 11 km southwest of the Drygalski Mountains in the Orvinfjella .
They were discovered and named during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . It is named after Ritscher's predecessor Wilhelm Filchner (1877–1957), head of the Second German Antarctic Expedition (1911–1912).
