Branch church Christofberg
The Catholic branch church Christofberg , consecrated to St. Christopher , is a church in the village of Christofberg in the Carinthian community of Brückl . The building, which is 957 m high and can be seen from afar, is located on a mountain top within an enclosure wall. The simple building was erected in 1627 under Abbot Hieronymus Marchstaller of the St. Paul Abbey in Lavanttal and renovated in the 19th century.
Building
On the south side of the slightly recessed choir is the sacristy tower with a pyramid helmet. The interior is flooded with light via pointed arched Gothic windows from the mid-19th century. The western canopy rests on pillars. The nave is flat-roofed and has a round-arched triumphal arch. The choir has a single bay with a three-eighth end and is vaulted with groin.
Facility
The early Baroque high altar dates from around 1630/1640, has a three-zone structure above a high base, the first and second zones are presented in the form of aedicules with lateral console figures under canopy arches, the third zone is designed as a round-arched frame of fittings , two of which are to the side Angel figures, the conclusion is made with a crucifix; in the middle is the figure of St. Christopher , on the left the figure of St. Peter , on the right that of St. Paul ; In the second zone you can see a picture of St. Roch , on the left the figure of St. Barbara , on the right of St. Margaret and, as an essay, an image of Vespers . The tabernacle from 1771 is attributed to Johann Pacher . The left side altar (1771) and the pulpit (1771) also come from Johann Pacher's workshop ; Leopold Schmidt is responsible for the carpentry work; In 1773 he was captured by Franz Höcher. The right side altar dates from around 1700. It is adorned with painted antependia from the middle of the 18th century. Both side altars were restored in 1988.
Bells
The bells come from the two masters Mathias Landsmann from 1673 and Marx Mathias Zechenter from 1719.
chapel
The semicircular open front building with onion helmet from 1782, which is included in the surrounding wall, is located south of the church. It shows a popular picture of Christophorus.
