The Angelner Steam Railway (also: Angelner Railway or Fishing Railway ) is a museum railway that carries out trips through fishing .

history

Friends of rail transport in Flensburg

The museum railway company of the Friends of Rail Transport Flensburg e. V. started in 1979 on the Hering Days between Kappeln and Süderbrarup .

Fishing Bahn GmbH

The fishing bahn GmbH - Eisenbahnbetriebsgesellschaft - (AB) was founded on December 6, 1994 in order for the Friends of Rail Traffic Flensburg e. V. carry out the museum train rides. In addition, the fishing railway also drove goods traffic on behalf of the NVAG , primarily for Cremilk in Kappeln and carried out shunting tasks in Flensburg for the Flensburg Express . The bankruptcy of Flex Verkehrs-AG and NVAG resulted in liabilities of around 50,000 euros, which is why fishing-bahn GmbH had to file for bankruptcy at the end of 2004. The proceedings were opened on April 1, 2005 and the company was then dissolved.

Feld- und Kleinbahn-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH and Angelner Eisenbahn Gesellschaft

The railway infrastructure company was then replaced by the "Feld- und Kleinbahn-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH" and, from 2009, the "Angelner Eisenbahn Gesellschaft". In the summer of 2005, the museum train rides began again.

future

The future of the route is uncertain, as investments of around 2.5 million euros are pending for continued operation. The track systems and the locomotive shed in Kappeln belong to the Schleswig-Flensburg district, which has leased these facilities to the company for one euro. The operating company is therefore responsible for track maintenance and investments.

In May 2017, the district announced that they wanted to sell the route for a negative purchase price of 60,000 euros. The communities bordering the route plan to found a special purpose association with the aim of enabling the museum railway to continue operating.

vehicles

The Angelner steam railway mainly uses Scandinavian vehicles.

Other vehicles of the association, including the passenger cars FSF02 and FSF21, the passenger car FSF40 - formerly NSB 18835 - and the control car FSF03 - formerly NSB BFS 65 18603 - stood crumbled and partially destroyed in the railway station in Süderbrarup. It was not possible to transport it by rail because all of the track connections to the storage group have been expanded.

At the end of the first half of 2017, the switch connection was re-established and some of the parked vehicles were removed.
