history

For a long time there was a desire for a church in Innerbreitenau, as it was a several hour walk from the Krummen Steyrling valley to the parish church in Molln. In 1941, Bishop Josephus Calasanz Fließer created the Innerbreitenau chaplain and church services were held in the house chapel of the Moser department store (Breitenau No. 49), but it was too small for the number of believers.

In 1952 the church building plans finally became concrete. Franz and Maria Moser provided the reason. Architect Hans Foschum drew the building plans free of charge. With the active support of the population, the church was built and consecrated on September 23, 1956 by Bishop Franz Zauner .

architecture

The church is based on conventional forms and has a rectangular floor plan and a recessed bell tower with an onion roof. The narrow side in the north-west pulls out slightly in the middle to form an apse.
