The Roman Catholic branch church Nampolach stands on a hill away from Nampolach / Napole in the municipality of Hermagor . The church dedicated to St. Kunigunde belongs to the Mellweg parish . In 1521 the Bishop of Bamberg gave permission for a new church to be built on the site of a wooden chapel.

Building description

The late Gothic church consists of a single-axis nave and a choir with four-sixths. The tower on the north side of the choir with two-part arched sound windows is crowned by a pyramid helmet. An open pillar vestibule the width of a ship protects the pointed arched, profiled west portal.

In the nave, a flat barrel with stab caps rests on circular services . The pointed, chamfered triumphal arch is drawn in and connects the nave and the choir, the choir with the shallow barrel and stitch caps.

Facility

The high altar , which was built around 1650, consists of an aedicule above a base and a slightly smaller aedicule as an attachment. The top is crowned by a cherub head and volutes . The twisted column shafts are adorned with vine tendrils , and wide ears with cartilage .

The right side altar, made around 1650, is similar in structure and decoration to the high altar and bears the figure of St. Nicholas and the image of a holy bishop in the top.

The left side altar was built around 1725.
