Rigaus-Voglau branch church

The Filialkirche Rigaus-Voglau in the Voglau district of the Abtenau municipality is a Roman Catholic branch church of the Abtenau parish in the Hallein district in the state of Salzburg . It is dedicated to Saint Joseph the Worker .

history

The Rigaus church in Voglau was built between 1960 and 1962 and consecrated in October 1962. Since the patron saint of the house of God is St. Joseph the Worker, the patronage festival is always celebrated on May 1st, Labor Day.

Architecture and equipment

The high altar was originally a side altar in the Marienkapelle in the collegiate church Sankt Peter in Salzburg . The high altar picture, which shows the twelve-year-old Jesus teaching in the temple, is a work by Franz Xaver König . The figures are casts of St. Roch and St. Sebastian from originals by Lorenz Hörmbler from 1774.

The round window on the west side is by Karl Weiser and shows the Annunciation .
