The Rosenau branch church is located in the municipality of Rosenau am Hengstpaß in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic branch church of the Holy Cross of the Windischgarsten parish church belongs to the Windischgarsten deanery in the Diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building .

history

During the Second World War, the Rosenau chapel on the premises of the Danubius company was demolished for the purpose of expanding the plant. After the war, on the initiative of Maria Rubchich, master mason Köberl built a church in Rosenau from 1949–1950 according to plans by the Linz architect Hans Foschum . The landlord, Mrs. Schuster, provided the land and the construction was financed by donations and work by the people of Rosenau; the community, the diocese of Linz and the Danubius company contributed to the costs.

On August 15, 1950, the church was consecrated by Bishop Franz Zauner .

The rococo altar dates from the 2nd half of the 18th century and is a donation from Schlierbach Abbey . A statue of St. Anthony of Padua and a Madonna and Child had the parish in Val Gardena made.
