The Roman Catholic branch church Silberwald is located in the district Silberwald in the municipality of Strasshof an der Nordbahn in the district of Gänserndorf in Lower Austria . It is consecrated to St. Niklaus von Flüe and belongs to the parish Strasshof an der Nordbahn in the deanery Gänserndorf in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

Location description

The church is in the Silberwald district on the corner of Hauptstrasse and Schubert-Gasse.

history

The church was built between 1951 and 1953 according to plans by Franz Immervoll . It is a replica of the Upper Ranft Chapel in Flüeli-Ranft in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland .

Church exterior

The church is a small historicizing building with a crowning roof turret.

Church interior

The interior is largely made of wood. The wall paintings are by Josef Fischer .

Furnishing

A picture of St. Nikolaus von der Flüe hangs above the simple high altar.

Peal

The bell was cast in 1760.
