The branch church of St. Laurentius is located in Wagholming in the municipality of Taufkirchen an der Pram . It is a branch church of the parish Taufkirchen an der Pram and belongs to the Andorf deanery of the Linz diocese .

history

The church was probably built in the 11th or 12th century by a noble family, the Wagholminger, who lived in Wagholming at that time. They appear in documents of the Vornbach monastery with Chonrad von Wikalmingen in 1140 and Eginscalk von Waekhalmingen in 1170. The maintenance of the branch church in Wagholming has always been the responsibility of the owners of the nearby Schwendt Castle . In 1716 and 1717 the church was given a new high altar, two side altars and a pulpit. In 1720 the wooden ceiling was replaced by a baroque vault and the broken brick pavement was replaced by marble paving.

A general restoration work recently took place. In April 2011, preliminary work was carried out for the renovation of the branch church, in particular the roof ridge with onion helmet . During the renovation, the previous covering of the onion helmet with green painted sheet metal was replaced by a covering made of larch wood shingles. On May 4, 2012 was in the wake topping-out ceremony of the renovated onion dome mounted, and on Corpus Christi (June 7, 2012) finally the grand re-opening and blessing of the daughter church took place.
