Since the parish church of St. Florian is far away from the village of Teufenbach, pastor Alois Flieher initiated the construction of a village church in the early 1950s.
The small church, also known as the village chapel, was built according to plans by architect Hans Foschum in the homeland security style using modern designs. It was built on the site of the former Teufenbach Castle ; the landowner is the host family in Teufenbach.
The interior is simply designed, in the apse there is a fresco depicting the Virgin Mary. The ringing consists of only one bell, which sounds in the tone h´´. It was cast in St. Florian in 1953.
