Weissenbach branch church near Liezen
The Weißenbach branch church in the municipality Weißenbach bei Liezen is a Roman Catholic branch church of the Liezen parish in the Liezen district in the state of Styria . It is dedicated to the feast of the Ascension of Christ .
history
The church was built between 1966 and 1968 under pastor Franz Fastl according to plans by Mariazell architect Kurt Weber-Mzell as the first prefabricated church in Styria.
Architecture and equipment
It is a simple construction with the cross section of an equilateral triangle ( trinity ). Four colored glass windows from the Schlierbach Abbey workshop are the architect's primary design element for the interior. The front window from 1968 shows " Ascension of Christ ". The right window shows the “ Crucifixion of Jesus ”, the one on the left shows the “ Resurrection of Jesus ” and the rear window “Christ as Judge of the World ”. Three windows were made on the occasion of the completion, refurbishment and renovation of the church in 1993 on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.
