Saint Joseph Church in Moos (Sexten)

history

The church was first mentioned in 1679. On November 11, 1707 the church burned down almost completely. The reconstruction took around ten years, after which the church was consecrated to St. Joseph in autumn 1720. In the war fire in 1915, however, the church was badly damaged and the entire interior was destroyed. Around 1925 it was enlarged by a bell tower according to plans by Clemens Holzmeister . The then parliamentary group leader Johann Raider went from house to house to collect donations for the four new bells, which were finally consecrated in May 1931.

art

The ceiling paintings inside the church come from the painter Rudolf Stolz .
