Filipe Alexandre Morais (born November 21, 1985 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese football player . The attacking right midfielder is under contract with Crawley Town .
Career
Born in Portugal, Morais grew up in London , where he was trained as a soccer player at the Chelsea FC Youth Academy . He was here for a total of four years; In 2003 he became a professional at the top London club, but was only used in youth teams. In early 2006 he was loaned to third division club Milton Keynes Dons for a few months . Here he made his first league game on January 31, 2006; against Nottingham Forest he was substituted on in the 61st minute.
For the 2006/07 season he was transferred to Millwall FC , who loaned him to St. Johnstone FC in the second Scottish division in January 2007 . His only goal for St. Johnstone he celebrated on February 17, 2007, when he scored in McDiarmid Park two minutes after his substitution against Hamilton Academical in the 84th minute of the game to make the final 4-2. For the 2007/08 season he moved to the Scottish Premier League for Hibernian FC , where he received a two-year contract. His first goal for the team from Edinburgh he scored in the Scottish League Cup ; it was the opening goal for the defending champions to make it 1-0 in a 2-1 win at Queen's Park .
Morais has been used in the Portuguese U-21 national team.
